One Degree, the broadband site dedicated to global climate change from The Weather Channel Interactive, today announced the inaugural One Degree Hot List, naming the ten most influential individuals, groups or companies to make impact on global climate change.

Dr. Heidi Cullen, the Weather Channel climate expert, who participated in the creation of the list, says the list allows for a unique opportunity to recognize the key players impacting climate change both positively and negatively.

THE PURPOSE FOR CREATING THE LIST IS SIMPLE. WE WANT TO BRING ATTENTION TO GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE AND INTRODUCE PEOPLE WHO'VE HAD THE MOST INFLUENCE ON THE CLIMATE CHANGE DISCUSSION THIS YEAR. THE LIST INCLUDES SOME EXPECTED NAMES, LIKE AL GORE AND GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER AND SOME SURPRISES LIKE NOTED EVANGELICAL RICHARD CIZIK AND PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH. BY HIGHLIGHTING THOSE WHO'VE IMPACTED GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE, WE CAN RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT HOW ONE PERSON'S ACTIONS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
