From October 5 to 11, Floridians will be able to shop tax-free for qualifying energy efficient products and appliances during Energy Efficiency Week. To help commuters learn more about energy efficiency, Florida Power & Light will have representatives at various Turnpike service plazas from 10:00 am to 1:00 p.m.

IT'S AN EXCELLENT TIME FOR CONSUMERS TO PURCHASE ITEMS THAT WILL SAVE THEM MONEY OVER THE LONG-TERM. A COUPLE OF WAYS TO SAVE INCLUDE: LOW-FLOW SHOWER HEADS - THEY'RE INEXPENSIVE, EASY TO INSTALL AND CAN SAVE CONSUMERS ABOUT $43 A YEAR. CHANGING FILTERS REGULARLY HELPS MAINTAIN YOUR SYSTEM'S EFFICIENCY TO THE TUNE OF ABOUT $22 PER YEAR. EVEN REPLACING ONE OLD 100-WATT LIGHT BULB WITH A COMPACT FLUORESCENT CAN SAVE $13 A YEAR.
